No major position changes in Google leaves millions of
sites unranked
For the past few months there have been no major position changes for
websites listed in Google and page rank. This is the longest duration
for websites to remain unchanged in Google's history. The introduction
of a new bot suggests forthcoming major changes in Google's algorithms
that are likely to affect rankings. It is hoped the changes will help
remove the 'Mega sites' with thousands of pages and no real content but
adwords. It is however not likely to affect such sites as Amazon, which
have unique product related information for each of their 3 million pages.
This issue has been and will continue to have a knock on effect on many
of search engine marketing campaigns and may result in either no change
or potentially a temporary dip in rank.
